charity concert dedicated to the International Children’s DayOnly on this very day on the 1st of June the graduates, second-year students, the graduates of the folk department of “The Governorate Ballet School” Dance College and the students of the “Children Dance School” affiliated with “The Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” present to the attention of the children a wonderful program “World Called the Art of Dance”.

The concert is held for the children from orphanages, boarding schools, children from incomplete and low income families of Kostroma and Kostroma region.

The organizers of the event are:

Y. V. Tsarenko – Art Director of the National Ballet “Kostroma”

M. Y. Veshkina – Director of "The Governorate Ballet School" affiliated with the National Ballet Kostroma

Dance project “The World Called the Art of Dance" is a traditional annual charity project of the Autonomous Non-commercial Organization Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” dedicated to the International Children’s Day.

The host of the event is “The Governorate Ballet School” Dance College affiliated with the National Ballet “Kostroma” and the “Children Dance School”.

The purpose of the event is to

  • esthetic upbringing of the young people in Kostroma and Kostroma region by means of spectacular dance art

The event is aimed at

  • creating warm family like atmosphere of a celebration for children
  • making the young audience smile and giving them joy and excellent mood
  • opening the enigmatic “World Called the Art of Dance”
  • making the performance more attractive to the young audience and easier to understand with the help of young artists

The program includes

Congratulatory speech of the Dance College patroness N. N. Shershunova.,

Exclusive version of CLASSIC ballet “Romeo and Juliet” and “Dances of the People of the World”.

Sergei Prokofyev’s brilliant, captivating music and classic but nevertheless permanently contemporary plot of Shakespeare’s tragedy, the theme of bright innocent love and kaleidoscopic change of folk dance - what can be more beautiful than a combination of dance art, theatre and music all performed by young artists for the young audience?

For the first time ever a film about the peculiarities of education in “The Governorate Ballet School" is going to be shown and there will also be talk about what ballet is and how it influences life of young artists.

The main target of the dance school "The Governorate Ballet School” is to train young, strong and skilled generations of dancers for “The Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” by combining traditional and experimental educational methods, by instilling patriotism and awakening the feeling of love towards Russian history and culture.
