Festival Show of State Dance Colleges of Russia dedicated to the 235th anniversary of Moscow State Academy of Choreography was held in Moscow from the 24th to the 30th of November. The best students of Dance Colleges in Russia and CIS took part in it.

One can’t but be happy that our Kostroma boys and girls, the fourth-year students of “The Governorate Ballet School", became the participants of this Festival. This honour is not for nothing. The invitation for the Festival was addressed to the future artists from Marina Konstantinovna Leonova, the President of Moscow State Academy of Choreography, People’s Artist of Russia, professor. She marked the high level of Kostroma students’ training for the first time at the “IV International Festival of Dance Colleges and Schools" in Kazan where "The Governorate Ballet School" traditionally participated.

There were many students and teachers from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Voronezh, Kostroma, Krasnoyarsk, Magnitogorsk, Nizhni Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Perm, Saratov, Krasnodarsky Krai, Belorussia and many other places who came to congratulate the heroes of the anniversary.

During the Festival time the participants got acquainted with the creative potential of other dance colleges and schools. They demonstrated their professional achievements and quite a few talented people were discovered. Students had a chance to enhance their performance skills at exclusive master classes of expert teachers and the teachers could exchange pedagogical experience in context of improving their professional qualities in classic, folk stage and modern dances.

The pinnacle of the Festival Show was a Jubilee Gala Concert in the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre on the 30th of November. The participants presented their best projects having come through a severe professional short-listing procedure on stage of the educational theatre of Moscow State Academy of Choreography.

The students of the school and studio named after I. Moiseev and the fourth-year students of "The Governorate Ballet School" dance studio represented the folk choreography on stage of Bolshoi Theatre. Our students performed the round dance «Spring lyrical» staged by Yuri Tsarenko with Ekaterina Berezina and Nikolai Senin as soloists. Original staging and accurate emotional manner of presentation in harmony with the music and costumes attracted the attention of the strictest critics such as Y. N. Grigorovich, E. K. Farmanyants, L. T. Zhdanova and other central world choreography figures.

Students’ successful performance at such a high profile Festival must be attributed to the credit of "The Governorate Ballet School" teachers of folk stage dance Irina and Aleksei Rubtsov as well as the Art Director, Honoured Art Worker of the Russian Federation Yuri Tsarenko.
