02.05.2012 We celebrated the First of May with a dance

It has already become a tradition for the students to perform on the professional stage of Concert and Exhibition Hall “Gubernsky”. For 10 years the students of “The Governorate Ballet School” have been full participants of solo concerts of “Kostroma” Ballet which take place annually on the 29th of April, on the International day of Dance.

However the real love of the audience has been won by the young artists with their show “The World Called the Art of Dance” which was first shown in 2007 as a diploma work of the first graduates of the choreographic college.  Starting with that year the young Kostromavites and the people from Kostroma region have a chance to experience the world of beauty in the towns, where the guest tours of  “The Governorate Ballet School” take place within the framework of the annual project “Children to Children”, and in Kostroma on the International Children Day.

With every new year the turns of the show become brighter and more varied.

On the 1st of May the young artists presented the choreographic composition “Marzelina” from “La Fille mal gardée” ballet (“The Wayward Daughter”) where the solo part was performed by Gleb povarov, a fourth year student, “Odnazhdy v Malinovke” (“Once upon a time in Malinovka”) and a premier turn called “Polzunets”. Lubava Polushkina and Yury Vybornov, the graduates of “The Governorate Ballet School” and now the Russian National Ballet soloists, danced the duet from “Don Quixote” ballet by Minkus; Yekaterina Poliashova and the graduates of the year 2007 performed “Gypsy Dance”.

The main target of the dance school "The Governorate Ballet School” is to train young, strong and skilled generations of dancers for “The Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” by combining traditional and experimental educational methods, by instilling patriotism and awakening the feeling of love towards Russian history and culture.
