20.03.2012 Kostroma school of folk choreography was highly appraised in Kazan

From the 16th to the 19th of March “The Governorate Ballet School” students took part in the 6th International Festival of Choreographic School and Colleges which took place on stage of the Tatar Academic State Theatre named after M. Jalil in the city of Kazan.

The participants of the Festival were the students of Russian Ballet Academy named after A. Y. Vaganova (Saint-Petersburg), Moscow State Academy of Choreography, Perm State College of Choreography, Kazan College of Choreography, Krasnodar College of Choreography, Krasnoyarsk College of Choreography, Bashkiria College of Choreography named after R. Nureev, Belorussia State College and School of Choreography, Yakutia College of Choreography named after A. V. Poselskaya, Art School Affiliated to the Head of the Komi Republic (the city of Syktyvkar), “The Governorate Ballet School” affiliated to the Russian National Ballet “Kostroma”, Saratov Region College of Art, Art College of Naberexhnye Chelny, Art and Culture College of the Mari-El Republic, Voronezh College of Choreography and other students.

As for “The Governorate Ballet School”, taking part in the International Festival of Choreography Schools and Colleges has become a good tradition. Two generations of the School’s students got their first professional experience on stage of the Kazan Theatre.

This year Kostroma College showed compositions performed by the team of the 1st and the 4th year students called “Zimushka” staged by Y. Tsarenko to the music of V. Kornev and “Tarantella” staged by A. Rubtsov to the folk music.

The tight schedule of the Festival could be easily called a four-day long dancing marathon. Kostroma students were excellent at showing their technique and art. There were two concerts a day and in between there were rehearsals and master classes but the loud rounds of applause given by the most demanding audience – future colleagues and the leading masters of choreographic art - served as a reward for the exhaustion.

“The Governorate Ballet School” teachers Irina and Aleksei Rubtsov held their first master class in folk stage dance for all the Festival participants. It was a big event for the College which work as a young, promising and professional school of folk choreography was highly appraised at the high profile international level.

“It is very nice to know that today our college has achieved such a level when its experience, acquired in just 10 years, is in demand. The School has formed its own culture and style characterized by the unmatched work of the School’s Art Director and the teachers” said Maria Veshkina, the Director of “The Governorate Ballet School”.

The main target of the dance school "The Governorate Ballet School” is to train young, strong and skilled generations of dancers for “The Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” by combining traditional and experimental educational methods, by instilling patriotism and awakening the feeling of love towards Russian history and culture.
