Within the framework of the charity project “From Children to Children” “The Governorate Ballet School" (college) presents show “The World Called the Art of Dance”. The project is supported by Igor Slunyayev, Kostroma region Governor.

The show was first performed for the young Kostromavites on the 1st of June 2007 on the International Children’s Day. Since then the concert has become a symbolic gift for children from boarding schools, foster homes, art schools as well as for children from single-parent families and families with a low income; the winners of city and regional Olympiads were also invited.

The main characters are CHILDREN in the AUDIENCE and CHILDREN on STAGE.

This year children from seven towns of Kostroma region will be able to see show “The World Called the Art of Dance”. The artist participating in the concert are going to be their peers, graduates of “The Governorate Ballet School” college of the years 2007 and 2010, the third year students of “The Governorate Ballet School” college as well as the students from the Children School for Choreography affiliated to Russian National Ballet “Kostroma”.

There are free tickets available for the children from boarding schools, foster homes, art and choreography schools as well as from other institutions of additional education of the cities. The tickets are sold with the help of Kostroma region Department of Culture.

Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” and “The Governorate Ballet School” (college) aim at making the art of dance accessible by solving the problem of reaching the audience in remote areas and teaching the audience artistic perception. The project targets at esthetic bringing-up of the younger generation of Kostroma and Kostroma region.

The concept of the project is that the traditional choreographic art has many genres. “The World Called the Art of Dance” show consists of two parts “Masterpieces of the World’s Classic Choreography” and “Dances of the World’s Nations” so the children have an opportunity to enjoy the international dance language, world famous music, the beauty and exclusivity of the costumes, characters of the ballets, skillful performance and the artists’ acting.

The bright kaleidoscope of music, dances, costumes and characters will bring happiness to children and make them feel the power of art to unit people as well as understand their own soul and potential.

The organizers of the charity project “From Children to Children” consider it to be their duty to provide the young people of Kostroma region with an opportunity to experience esthetic pleasure and perhaps to choose their future profession.

The final gala concert of the charity project “From Children to Children” will take place on the 1st of June on the International Children’s Day in Concert and Exhibition Center “Gubernsky” in Kostroma.

The main target of the dance school "The Governorate Ballet School” is to train young, strong and skilled generations of dancers for “The Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” by combining traditional and experimental educational methods, by instilling patriotism and awakening the feeling of love towards Russian history and culture.
