12.12.2008 Continuation of unshakable traditions

This nice tradition was started by the first students of “The Governorate Ballet School” Dance College and last year’s graduates who are artists of “The Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” now. It was they who created the oath and the hymn for the College; and from that time on all the first-year students of “The Governorate Ballet School” say the words of the oath and sing the hymn.

Graduates of the year 2007, the fourth-year students and the artists of “The Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” made a real big celebration for the artists-to-be.

Maria Veshkina, the College Director, Elena Tsarenko, the President of “The Russian National Ballet “Kostroma”, Yuri Tsarenko, the Art Director and the Chief Ballet Master, and even the goddess Terpsichore herself opened the ceremony with their words of welcome. As a follow up for the ceremony, which was quite an impressive performance indeed, the future artists enjoyed a party of theatrical performances, spectacular shows, funny competitions, games and trials while trying to deserve the right to study the professional choreography art.

There are five years ahead, five challenging, informative, serious and interesting courses to go.

This joyful moment was shared by the audience of administration and teachers, students’ parents and friends as well as by the young artists from the “Children Dance School” affiliated with “The Russian National Ballet “Kostroma”, the First Ballet Class. This symbolical wind up of the initiation ceremony is the ground for creating new traditions and strengthening the intergenerational continuity.

The main target of the dance school "The Governorate Ballet School” is to train young, strong and skilled generations of dancers for “The Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” by combining traditional and experimental educational methods, by instilling patriotism and awakening the feeling of love towards Russian history and culture.
