15.01.2010 “The Governorate Ballet School" (College) changes to free of charge system of education

Non-governmental educational institution of secondary professional education “The Governorate Ballet School" (College) affiliated with the National Ballet “Kostroma" changes to free of charge system of education.

For 8 years "The Governorate Ballet School" Dance College charged a tuition fee from its students. There were two graduation classes of professional artists of folk dancing: 16 people graduated in 2007 and 13 students are to graduate in 2010. Many of them are soloists of “The Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” even now.

It must be said that the College has never aimed at getting profit. To the present day its main activities are financed by “The Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” and out of the funds acquired by rendering charged educational services.

It is only this year that, notwithstanding the world’s economic crises, the administration of “The Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” approved the decision to change the second-year students of “The Governorate Ballet School” Dance College to a free of charge system of education. This became possible thanks to the support of Igor Nikolayevich Slunyayev on behalf of the Kostroma Region Administration. In its turn the Ballet propagates on a large scale in Russia and abroad information about Kostroma city as a place of tourist interest, creates workplaces and from its own funds actively operates in line with priority governmental politics in the sphere of education, culture and art in Russia.

The main target of the dance school "The Governorate Ballet School” is to train young, strong and skilled generations of dancers for “The Russian National Ballet “Kostroma” by combining traditional and experimental educational methods, by instilling patriotism and awakening the feeling of love towards Russian history and culture.
